Introducing Vine – a new video-sharing app by Twitter

Twitter is shaking up the mobile and social markets with their newest service called Vine. The new mobile-only social network allows users to create and share short looping videos.

On their blog, Twitter said “like Tweets, the brevity of videos on Vine (6 seconds or less) inspires creativity.”

According to the app description – “Vine is the best way to see and share life in motion. Create short, beautiful, looping videos in a simple and fun way for your friends and family to see.”

Like other social platforms, you can connect with friends, view posts, leave comments, and more. Another feature from Twitter, trends, is also available, allowing you to see the trending topics and videos curated by Vine’s editors.

Wasting no time, brands like Urban Outfitters, Gap, Red Vines and PBS are jumping on board, creating and sharing videos with the new app.

Vine is currently only available on iPhone and iPod touch devices via the Apple App Store. But the company was quick to add “we’re working now to bring it to other platforms.”
